Headshots

On Location. In Studio. Coaching. Fast Turn Around.

No one, literally no one, just steps in front of the camera and nails it.

This is awkward … The first image I take is not likely to be the one. But this is where we get comfortable. Then we laugh and you’ll realize that sitting in front of the camera is not THAT bad and the pressure comes off. Then we level up, your confidence shows, we get the shot and you’re done.

The most difficult task, picking your favorites.

How to prepare for Headshots

Keep it simple.

There’s probably a ton of questions running through your head! What do you wear? What about make up? Do I wear jewelry?

For headshots to be effective in a perfect way, the photo needs to bring focus to you and not away from you. Big Jewelry and bold patterns are not our friends. We want to keep the focus on you so let’s keep it minimal.

Leading us to clothing choice. Focus on wearing colors that compliment your hair, skin tone, eyes, etc. Bolder colors seem to be a distraction and pull focus from you. Reds and oranges tend to reflect light into your face and tint your skin as well. Neutral colors are where its at. Blacks, browns, grays, blues.

Since headshots are only above the mid chest, don’t get crazy about the overall fit. What matters is what the camera sees. Clothes that are more fitted and less baggy are best.

Keep the Make up Simple.

You want to look like the same person in the photo as you do in the room. It’s best do go with what you would normally use on a day to day, don’t overdo it!

The value you place on yourself will absolutely determine the quality of your headshot which will translate to more confidence for you and your career goals.

I make myself available before, during and after the session, so if you need something specific, please don’t hesitate to ask.
